Arterio is the future of suburban travel, designed with comfort and efficiency in mind.

  • 90 Class 701 units built in Derby (2019–2024), costing around £1 billion 
  • More capacity: A ten-car Arterio carries 556 seated and ~746 standing—over 50 % more than the older eight-car 455s 
  • Passenger-focused features: Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, charging points at every seat, real-time screens, wide double-leaf doors, cycle racks, accessible
  • Regenerative braking (up to 30 % energy saving)
