About the job

Provide professional and comprehensive administration support to the Learning and Development team. This role will primarily interface with colleagues within the HR Function but will be required to interface with other functions across the business in the process of arranging attendance on training courses

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Manage the arrangements, including all documentation associated with employee's attendance on training courses, including release from duty as required.
  • Update employee records on relevant systems.
  • Maintain accurate training information and produce training reports in line with requirements, such as trackers and production of KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with General Data Protection Regulations in all activities.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Manage and maintain the training diary and rosters.
  • Ordering of stationary and others stores, maintaining stock levels.
  • Create and process purchase orders associated with ordering of stationary, stores and training providers.
  • Book lunches for training.
  • Course preparation activities as required by the training team.
  • Booking rooms internally and working with external providers to meet our requirements.
  • General Health & Safety of the training and office environment
  • Take ownership and responsibility for own areas of work and continuously look to improve processes and practices

As a minimum, you will need to have:

  • Minimum GCSE in Maths and English Grade A-C or equivalent
  • An interest in Learning and Development would be advantageous 
  • Experience of working in an office environment and administration
  • Good working knowledge of a range of IT systems and packages
  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work as a team and co-share the responsibilities of this busy role.
  • Proven evidence of continuous improvement activities
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work to a high standard is pressurised situations

About the location

Basingstoke Train Station is an essential hub in the South Western Railway network. It offers a convenient link between the Southwestern counties of Bournemouth, Portsmouth & Southampton to London, Reading and Birmingham. It is a busy station with 5 platforms and is the home of Inspiration Junction, out Customer Experience training centre. It is also a short walk to Basingstoke Campus, a state-of-the-art training facility and office space shared with Network Rail.

Working pattern

Working an average of 22.2 hours per week over 3 days, Monday to Wednesday, 0900 - 1624.
