About the job

IOW Infrastructure track maintenance team carry out vital inspections, repairs and renewals of the 08mile 31chain Island Line Service. The Track Person will become part of a growing and developing team that will be undertaking manual maintenance of rails, sleepers and track components including carrying out safety critical roles and competencies.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Undertaking Safety Critical Roles
  • Undertaking out manual maintenance and inspections of track infrastructure
  • Adhere to the current safety culture
  • Adhere to the current Railway Rulebooks and Network Rail standards
  • Undertaking stock and resource management
  • On call requirements

You'll need to be:

  • Experienced within the track maintenance or equivalent industry
  • Understand key principles of safety critical competencies 
  • Have an understanding in Engineering and/or maintenance or equivalent industry
  • Good literacy and computer skills
  • Experienced with manual and Battery/Petrol plant machinery 
  • Valid UK Driving licence

Working pattern

Working an average of 35 hours per week over 5 days

Nights - Monday to Wednesday 2100 to 0600 / Thursday 2200 to 0600
