About the job

To undertake Permanent Way maintenance, ETM inspection of the Island Line and other duties subject to personal competence.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Maintenance of P'Way
  • Component changing
  • Act as Lookout / COSS / Pilotman
  • Patrolman
  • To drive company road vehicles as required
  • De-icing operation
  • Assist carrying out general maintenance / station repairs

Ensure that all work records are kept up to date and that all entries are correct.

You'll need to be:

  • Competent in ELWI, strapping and isolation procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of COSHH
  • Good communication skills both written and oral
  • Hold a current PTS
  • DC Electrified lines
  • COSS / PICOP / ES
  • Emergency First aid trained
  • Look out competent
  • Points Winding
  • Track Handbook licenced.
  • ELWI and strapping standards
  • Pilotmans course
  • Successful completion of training relevant to the job

Safety responsibilities:

  • When required to set up safe systems of work for their personal and others safety
  • Monitor staff for compliance with the company's Alcohol and Drugs Policy and Procedures
  • Ensure all worksites are left in a safe manner

Working pattern

35 hours across 5 days per week.

Typical shifts include: 21:00 - 06:00 / 22:00 - 06:00 / 08:00 - 16:00
