About the job

To work with the Fleet Facilities Manager to ensure that all plant, equipment, and buildings are maintained to the relevant standards.  To maintain the necessary records of this process and collate and coordinate the output(s) of the team. To act as liaison with various external stakeholders, including Network Rail, to ensure all works arising are progressed to completion. Interface primarily with internal stakeholders including SWR Helpdesk, Depot Plant Maintenance teams and Contractors.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Managing the Planned Preventative Maintenance and Statutory Inspections on all buildings, plant, and equipment.
  • Managing the Reactive Repairs and new Works Arising on all buildings, plant and equipment raised from depot fault reporting, Planned Preventative Maintenance, Statutory Inspections, and audits.
  • Reviewing work package plans, risk assessments, asset specification and installation documents
  • Planning works for all works arising and liaising with Depot Managers to ensure works can be started
  • Managing contractors on site, including depot inductions, pre-work briefings and meetings, inspecting works, and attending hand-back meetings.
  • Manage projects arising from Network Rail TOC contribution funding and any ad hoc requests from depots.
  • Maintain the availability of up-to-date work records and certificates, drawings, O&M manuals.
  • Request and process invoices relating to facility related works as required and ensuring evidence is recorded and monitored for repairs/maintenance across all Engineering Depots.
  • Support and liaise with all Depot Managers to ensure any new items of equipment are registered and work with the contracts team to ensure items are covered by contracts to maintain as necessary
  • Work with Fleet Facilities Manager to look to procure new contracts for maintenance as required.
  • Support the Fleet Facilities Manager with the preparation of the Facilities components of the depot budgets, reviewing current expenditure to validate cost effectiveness, preparing business cases for change and investment submissions.

You'll need to be:

  • Must be IT literate
  • Knowledge of current legislation for Plant & Equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to plan and organise
  • Must be enthusiastic and a team player
  • Must be able to work on own initiative and be pro active

About the location

Wimbledon Traincare Depot is a short walk from Wimbledon Park station and recently launched our new Class 701 fleet, marking a significant milestone in the £1bn transformation of suburban travel. Drivers, maintenance and other depot colleagues are currently in training to develop the new skills needed for this generation of train that will be fitted with all new modern technology. Wimbledon depot will eventually become the new maintenance home for the entire Class 701 fleet.

Working pattern

Working on average 37 hours over 5 days. Monday to Friday
