About the job

The Leadership Training Manager is responsible for delivering developmental and procedural training programmes to manager grade colleagues in SWR. This includes the provision of specific and generic training programmes covering ‘Leadership Development', Diversity, and People Management procedural courses. Additionally, the post holder will be responsible for working with the leadership delivery manager to create bespoke training and development opportunities for both the wider business and specific functions as needed. These should all be underpinned by the SWR Development map clearly focusing on the end improvements to the customer experience.

 

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Liaise with managers in the organisation to ensure engagement and buy-in to the Leadership Development Programmes.
  • Undertake Training Needs Analysis to ascertain development needs of individuals and teams relating to leadership/management effectiveness.
  • Support the development needs of individuals/teams for other development interventions
  • Design training courses and programmes necessary to meet development needs or manage this activity via external provider(s).
  • Project manage delivery of development programmes
  • Deliver development workshops/courses relating to management effectiveness, including procedural training
  • Deliver other emergent management development interventions
  • Deliver one to one coaching with individuals relating to development needs
  • Ensure all training/development activities and materials meet with CIPD best practice and relevant organisational and statutory policies, including health and safety, employment and equality laws.
  • Act as an advisor to managers in relation to the development of their managers
  • Monitor and report on activities, costs, performance, etc. as required.

You'll need to be:

  • Must have previous experience of facilitation
  • Experience of working within the training field covering the whole training cycle.
  • Excellent communicator.

Desirable

  • Coaching or mentoring experience desirable
  • Leadership/Management experience.
  • Knowledge of new learning and development practices and methodologies.
  • IT skills – use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and design and use of e-learning packages essential

About the location

Overline House is conveniently situated overlooking Southampton Central Station and is easily accessible by public transport. The station is very local to West Quay, a hub for retailers and restaurants, and provides an excellent link between London, Coastal areas and the Isle of Wight.

Working pattern

Working an average of 37 hours per week over 5 days

Mon – Fri with occasional out of pattern work as agreed in advance
