About the job

To develop an all-round awareness of IT and the way the IT function supports the SWR business processes and goals.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Attendance at sites to investigate and support the resolution of technical issues
• Supporting the Telecoms activities building and deploying mobile devices.
• Working with project management activities of IT projects.
• Supporting the technical licensing requirements.
• Assisting the IT Security team improving the SWR IT security position, including compliance monitoring, investigation of issues, reporting and developing IT Security policy and process.
• Helping the IT Infrastructure team to build and maintain servers both on premise and cloud

You'll need to have:

• Ability to communicate with all levels of colleagues and external contractors
• An understanding of IT within a business context and knowledge Microsoft Office applications

Desirable

• Predicted or achieved Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths, or Level 2 Functional Skills.

• Good computer literacy
• Understanding of the principles of cyber security

• Understanding of the principles of networking

About the location

Overline House is conveniently situated overlooking Southampton Central Station and is easily accessible by public transport. The station is very local to West Quay, a hub for retailers and restaurants, and provides an excellent link between London, Coastal areas and the Isle of Wight.

Working pattern

Working an average of 37 hours per week over 5 days
