About the job

To provide case and technical support to the Data Privacy and Evidence Gatherer teams to ensure timely and accurate information provision by the team. Work in close partnership with key internal and external stakeholders to meet their data and information needs. To provide additional support within the Data Privacy team and gain experience in all areas covered.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • To deal with internal and external Subject Access Requests, from the initial request to the conclusion of the case.
  • Carry out comprehensive searches across email systems, digital records, and other data repositories to locate personal data relevant to DSARs, internal investigations, or regulatory enquiries.
  •  Review and redact personal data to ensure only information lawfully disclosable is shared, applying data‑minimisation principles and maintaining a clear audit trail of decisions.
  • Prepare four‑weekly reports for the Head of Department and Directorate summarising DSAR activity, compliance performance, risks, trends, and other key data‑protection metrics.
  •  Identify gaps, inefficiencies, or risks within existing data‑protection processes and contribute to the development of improved procedures, guidance materials, and internal controls.
  •  Process requests for CCTV footage where it constitutes personal data, ensuring lawful basis, proportionality, appropriate redaction, and accurate documentation of all disclosures.
  • To assist with case management of the Evidence Gatherers criminal cases and become the subject matter expert for the Digital Evidence Management System (DEMS), tracking DEMS requests and updating Officers when the CCTV is ready for collection
  • To respond to any queries from the BTP in relation to CCTV requests.
  • To actively take part in meetings to build relationships with relevant stakeholders, including with the DfTO and other TOCs, taking minutes and recording actions as required.
  • Escalate and seek the advice of the Data Privacy Compliance Manager for any complex requests, and make the Security Department aware of any cases that could reputationally and /or financially affect SWR.
  • To assist with any other administration duties as required by the department.

You'll need to be:

  • The post holder will have a basic understanding of the Data Protection regulations.
  • The post holder must be conversant with Windows, Excel and Microsoft Office packages
  • The post holder must be able to build strong working relationships across the business along with external stakeholders
  • The post holder must have a high level of discretion when dealing with fatalities and data subject access requests.
  • The post holder must be able to travel to Wimbledon on regular basis.
  • The post holder must be able to adapt to new technologies quickly.

Working pattern

You will work an average of 37 hours across 5-days per week, typically; Monday to Friday office hours.
