About the job

The Continuous Improvement Business Analyst supports the Continuous Improvement team deliver digital solutions that improve business processes. This could be through building dashboards in Power BI, apps within Power Apps/Platform, or working with our suppliers to better understand business requirements and deliver solutions to improve processes and results.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Act as the key liaison between business teams and suppliers to deliver digital solutions; from creating business requirement through to delivery and benefit capture; supporting departments across the business, including operational performance, train maintenance, and train presentation
  • Build and maintain Power Apps and Power BI dashboards, including safety systems, project management tools, and engineering solutions, to increase efficiencies and reduce time spent with administrative tasks across our front-line teams
  • Document data flows and system interfaces between SWR systems to support long term strategy, planning, and development
  • Analyse data from supported systems to identify insights and opportunities
  • Act as technical challenge for digital projects within the Project Management Office, ensuring identification and reduction of project risks, and support for mitigation, issues, and opportunities.
  • Support the Senior Continuous Improvement Manager on wider business and industry improvement activities

You'll need:

  • Ability to quickly understand and clearly communicate business requirements
  • Ability to quickly learn, understand, and use new technology
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to work collaboratively with people across functions and departments, both internal and external.

It would be great if you have:

  • Experience in SQL
  • Experience in Power BI, Power Apps, SharePoint, Power Automate
  • Experience in rail
  • Degree in business, information systems, or related discipline

Working pattern

You will work an average of 37 hours across 5 days per week, typically office hours.
