On Wednesday 13 May, our 2024 apprenticeship cohort came together for a day of team building and reflection at Go Ape. It offered a valuable pause from day‑to‑day responsibilities and a chance to reconnect as a group.
The morning brought challenging conditions, with rain, wind and hail adding complexity to the high‑ropes course. Despite this, our apprentices moved through each section with focus and resilience, supporting one another throughout. Zip‑lining through a hailstorm isn’t an experience many are keen to repeat, but it demonstrated the determination that continues to shape their progress.
In the afternoon, the group took on axe throwing, where our Engineering Apprentices secured the win. The activity provided space to reflect on achievements so far and recognise the growth each apprentice has shown across their programme.
Our Engineering Apprentices have now reached the halfway point of their journey, while most of our Young Talent and Leadership Apprentices are approaching completion, having reached Gateway. Several have already moved into permanent roles within the business, demonstrating the strength of their development and the value they bring to their teams.
Looking ahead, preparations are underway to welcome 28 new apprentices in September 2026. They will join a supportive network designed to help them build skills, gain experience and make the most of their apprenticeship journey.
Thank you to all our apprentices for your continued hard work and commitment. Your progress is recognised, and we’re proud to support each step of your development.
